This course helps participants understand the risks associated with High-Alert Medications (HAMs), including concentrated solutions and look-alike/sound-alike (LASA) medications. It introduces internationally recognized medication safety practices based on the WHO Global Patient Safety Challenge. Participants will learn to establish a HAM safety team, develop standardized processes, and train staff to manage HAMs effectively. The course also addresses common gaps in HAM management and provides tools to measure compliance and improve safety. By the end, participants will be able to identify HAMs, prevent errors, and reduce harm caused by medication mistakes.
